2 Postcard-Mr. Corrigan


Dear Friends,
As I started my journey through Japan I began to see these little statues.
I came to ask an old man of what they represented. Turns out it is a representation
of buddha. It is who they worship. Their religion is buddhism. They seem to have adopted this
religion from China.

Dear Friends,
During my stay here in Japan I see a lot of women painting and writing
with peaceful looks upon there face. I asked one woman what she was
writing and she said it was a poem. II soon learned they had many forms for poems.
Such as haiku's, and tanka's. Apparently haiku's are very short 3 lines at most.
While tanka's are 5 line and go by the pattern 5-7-5-7-7.
